Strike System
KQM Staff Strike System
KQM Staff that fail to follow the KQM Staff Guidelines get bonked.
To prevent any continuous undesirable behavior from our staff members, we’ve created a concrete system to deal with staff rule violations.
Please bear in mind that Pillar Heads have full discretion to remove any of their staff and the strike system.
Strike Procedure
We have a 3 strike system, after which you have your staff role(s) removed. If your conduct is found to be in violation of the Staff Guidelines, a strike will be issued. Strikes normally expire 2 months after being issued, however major and/or repeated offenses may result in permanent strikes.
- 1st Strike - Conversation with the individual and re-evaluation of their work. Will be done through a Direct Message by the strike issuer.
- 2nd Strike - Forced 2 week hiatus for a certain amount of time to both fully reflect and cool off.
- 3rd Strike - Demotion and removal from the staff
The Process
Strikes will be issued by Admins, Head Mods, Pillar Heads and Pillar Vice Heads in response to undesirable behavior. Normally strikes will be issued after direct warnings, however this is left to the discretion of heads/vice heads and could be issued after the first offense depending on the severity.
Strikes are separate from moderator warns, though not mutually exclusive (you may receive both a strike and a warn for one behavioral incident). Staff members are held to a higher standard of expectations and should abide by both the KQM staff guidelines in addition to the server rules.
After a strike is issued, the individual will be contacted via Direct Messages informing them of the strike as well as why the behavior displayed is unacceptable. \
You may be asked to go on a temporary hiatus for a certain amount of time to both fully reflect and cool off at the discretion of your Section Head.
Offenses
Minor Offenses
Minor offenses will lead to 1 strike.
- Breaking server rules in public channels
- Knowingly spreading misinformation
- Repeatedly provoking or engaging in arguments
- Misuse of perms \ (such as inappropriate mutes/disconnects, inappropriate slowmode, abusing filter bypasses, messing with perms unnecessarily, removing content that does not violate rules and without permission)
- NSFW content or language in public or staff channels outside of the NSFW category.
Medium Offenses
Medium offenses will lead to 2 strikes.
- Publicly insulting individuals on a personal level
- Inciting drama between members or other communities
- Publicly denigrating the work of other individuals or communities
- Using your staff position to inappropriately place yourself in a position of power over other individuals
Extreme Offenses
Extreme offenses will lead to immediate removal from KQM staff.
- Severe power abuse and usage of the position for normally prohibited offenses.
- NSFL content or language anywhere in the server
- Leaking any sensitive private information, private staff documents & resources or unreleased work to the public. This includes all mod and staff chats + personal information (case by case offense).
- Severe perm abuse (for one's personal benefit, randomly kicking/banning members).
- Behavior that would fall under the insta-ban offenses according to the rules (e.g. blatantly bigoted behavior, doxxing)
- Any behavior that can constitute breaking the Discord Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
Given our closer partnership with Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, Staff Strikes will be shared across both servers for shared staff members. In the case of Theorycrafting Staff, the KQM Strike System is used together with WFP’s.
Strike Duration
- Strikes last for two months.
- A pattern of repeat behavior which results in multiple strikes may result in a permanent strike at the discretion of the issuer.
- Multiple strikes are served concurrently, not consecutively.
Appeals
If you wish to appeal a strike, please submit a modmail to contact the Admins. The Admin team will then open a channel/thread to mediate between the Pillar Head / Vice Head who issued the strike and yourself to determine whether the strike was legitimate and whether or not it should hold.
We feel this system helps keep the tranquility in staff channels whilst also maintaining fairness with the opportunity to appeal with neutral parties involved. If there are any questions or feedback please let us know!
